Description

You will manage heterogeneous tape library environments, ensuring maximum uptime through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Monitor media archive tape libraries and workflows to proactively identify and resolve issues before client impact.
• Respond to system issues and engage client teams as required.
• Coordinate with vendors to facilitate hardware, software, and firmware repairs.
• Manage operations during East Coast business hours, including potential weekend activity and on-call rotations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in tape library operations.
• Hands-on experience with IBM TS1140 and TS1150 tape libraries.
• Proficiency in Perl for automation or scripting.
• Familiarity with Commvault.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent graduate qualification.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of media workflows.
