Description

You will manage tax engagements and client compliance processes independently.

Responsibilities

• Review tax returns prepared by administrative staff and accountants (1040, Schedule C, 1065, 1120, 990, 1041, and others).
• Sign and submit accurate returns and reports to the IRS and state departments of revenue.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding them through return results and offering recommendations.
• Hire, train, and support junior and senior-level staff accountants and administrative assistants.
• Partner with firm leadership on process improvement and workflow efficiency.

Required Skills

• Active CPA license (Illinois or reciprocal).
• 6 years of experience in tax preparation and review.
• Expertise in tax compliance and preparation.
• Proficiency in tax planning and tax strategies.
• Strong knowledge of tax law and regulations.
• Ability to manage workload independently.
• Familiarity with professional tax and practice management software systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
