Roles & Responsibilities:
- Own and contribute to architecture and development of enterprise Java applications for forensic systems.
- Provide technical guidance on design and implementation across distributed development teams in UK, Europe, nearshore and offshore locations.
- Support modernisation and evolution of legacy forensic systems to ensure scalability and maintainability.
- Develop enterprise applications across client and server components using modern Java technologies and frameworks.
- Define software architecture for enterprise applications applying object-oriented design and design patterns including SOLID and Clean Code principles.
- Design and optimise backend services and data models ensuring scalability, integrity and performance of data-intensive systems.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and manage containerised environments using Docker.
- Ensure high code quality through testing and best practices while performing performance profiling and JVM optimization.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps and architecture stakeholders to deliver robust and compliant solutions.
- Support team mobilisation, onboarding, training and knowledge transfer across distributed delivery teams.
Experience Required: Extensive experience (10+ years) in enterprise Java development and DevOps practices with proven experience in architecture and hands-on development. Experience working in regulated or complex operational environments such as Forensics or LIMS is preferred.
Education: Bachelor's in Engineering or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent
