Description

You will own the architecture and development of enterprise Java applications for forensic systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Define software architecture for enterprise applications applying object-oriented design and design patterns including SOLID and Clean Code principles.
• Provide technical guidance on design and implementation across distributed development teams in UK, Europe, nearshore and offshore locations.
• Design and optimise backend services and data models ensuring scalability, integrity and performance of data-intensive systems.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and manage containerised environments using Docker.
• Ensure high code quality through testing and best practices while performing performance profiling and JVM optimization.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of extensive experience in enterprise Java development and DevOps practices with proven experience in architecture and hands-on development.
• Proficiency in Java, Java EE, Eclipse RCP, PostgreSQL, WildFly, JPA, Hibernate, Docker, Maven, and Git.
• Experience working in regulated or complex operational environments such as Forensics or LIMS is preferred.
• Bachelor's in Engineering or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with SWT, JFace, Jakarta EE, JPQL, CriteriaBuilder, Azure DevOps, Eclipse Tycho, CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of object-oriented development, clean code principles, design patterns, legacy system evolution, performance optimization, JVM tuning, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
