Description

You will resolve complex optical networking and DWDM equipment issues for customers.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve optical networking and DWDM equipment issues.
• Perform root cause analysis for previously unknown problems.
• Manage critical customer issues through effective communication and cross-functional teamwork.
• Mentor workgroup members and contribute to technical presentations.
• Deliver known solutions and implement fixes for complex networking problems.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with optical technologies (SONET, DWDM, OC, SDH, ML, MSTP).
• 5+ years in the networking industry with deep product and protocol knowledge.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for Optical/DWDM environments.
• Hands-on experience with Unix systems.
• Proficiency with databases including Oracle, SQL, or Sybase.
• CCNA, CCNP, or higher networking certification.
• CCCOS certification in SONET or SDH.
• Previous customer support experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
