Roles & Responsibilities:
- Own and contribute to architecture and development of enterprise Java applications within the eLIMS-Forensics programme.
- Provide technical guidance on design and implementation across distributed development teams located in UK, Europe, nearshore and offshore locations.
- Support modernisation and evolution of legacy forensic systems ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Develop enterprise applications across client and server components using Java 11/17 and related technologies.
- Define software architecture for enterprise applications applying object-oriented design and design patterns including SOLID and Clean Code principles.
- Design and optimize backend services and data models using PostgreSQL, JPA/Hibernate, and JPQL/CriteriaBuilder for data-intensive systems.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and manage containerized environments using Docker.
- Ensure high code quality through testing and best practices while performing performance profiling and JVM tuning.
- Work within Agile/Scrum delivery teams and collaborate across multiple delivery centers for effective project execution.
- Support team mobilization, onboarding, training and knowledge transfer while acting as technical interface between business and IT teams.
Experience Required: Extensive experience of 10+ years in enterprise Java development and DevOps practices with proven experience in architecture and hands-on development. Experience working in regulated or complex operational environments such as Forensics or LIMS is preferred.
Education: Bachelor's in Engineering or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent qualification
