Every BU actively executes Product Change Management daily.
Their Triads are the gate keepers to changing a product.
The result is a Portfolio that represents all the Projects the BU has agreed to execute. Includes everything from PDP to CIPs.
CIP Projects are the predominant type. They require a substantial amount of orchestration.
They are far more challenging to manage than individual PDP Projects.
There is no Project Management function today that does this.
With the sheer amount of them, their typical crosstalk, and collisions with one another, in addition to Full PDPs and Lite PDPs, is immense.
These are a substantial contributor to EA (Exception Activity) and consume a massive number of resources to execute.
Orchestration is key and a big part of running the business.
This new role of Portfolio Program Manager would oversee this orchestration activity.
