Description

You will manage and maintain z/OS operating systems and subsystems in a 24x7x365 environment. You will own system performance tuning, security configuration, and software maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Install, customize, and maintain vendor software products using standard naming conventions and guidelines.
• Configure security rules using RACF and coordinate system interfaces for Transaction Services.
• Schedule and test software upgrades and patches during off-peak hours to minimize production impact.
• Monitor system performance using specialized tools and tune software to optimize throughput and code reuse.
• Analyze client-reported problems, collaborate with vendors on corrective action plans, and document technical updates.

Required Skills

• At least 5 years of experience with IBM Mainframe z/OS products.
• Hands-on experience with RACF, CICS, IMS, MQ, and WebSphere.
• Proven experience in z/OS systems administration and third-party program product installation.
• Ability to manage software maintenance, including patches and fix packs, to mitigate outages.
• Experience with storage management and z/OS subsystem administration.
• A four-year degree or equivalent combination of progressive programming and systems programming experience.
