Description

You will manage, install, and optimize software within a 24x7x365 mainframe operational environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, customize, and maintain vendor software products using standard naming conventions.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal staff to implement patches, fix packs, and maintenance upgrades.
• Configure security rules using RACF and manage system interfaces for Transaction Services.
• Monitor system performance and tune software to ensure maximum throughput and stability.
• Document new system configurations in user guides and technical bulletins for clients.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience with IBM Mainframe products.
• Extensive experience with z/OS operating systems and subsystems.
• Proficiency with RACF, CICS, IMS, MQ, and WebSphere.
• Experience in z/OS systems administration and third-party program product installation.
• Ability to analyze application problems and coordinate corrective action plans with vendors.
• Demonstrated experience in software customization and security rule implementation.
• A four-year degree plus four years of progressive programming, or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of distributed systems and middleware technologies.
• Basic networking knowledge.
