Description

You create and revise complex technical documentation to support product marketing, operations, repair, and maintenance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise product descriptions, functional descriptions, operating procedures, fault isolation, maintenance/repair procedures, and illustrated parts breakdowns.
• Research and consult with engineering staff to interpret technical data and engineering drawings.
• Translate engineering designs into understandable language for non-engineers while maintaining technical accuracy.
• Evaluate illustrations and graphics to determine optimal placement or request new visual assets.
• Validate written procedures for equipment and provide input on documentation format and style.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of relevant experience in technical writing.
• Proficiency in XML authoring tools such as Arbortext, Epic Editor, or Oxygen.
• Experience with XML and Content Management Systems (CMS).
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electronics, and system operations.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Expertise in Adobe Acrobat Professional or similar electronic markup tools for illustration markup.
• Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings and technical data.
• Strong command of the English language and high attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the defense or automotive industries.
• Mechanical, electrical, or operator technical writing experience.
• Understanding of interactive electronic technical manual functionality and markup languages.

Key Skills

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus 2 additional years of relevant experience.
