Description

You will provide technical leadership across complex network environments in Essen, Düsseldorf, Germany.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, diagnose, and resolve network issues across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and cloud environments.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and manage advanced routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, and VRF.
• Administer network security devices such as firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, FortiGate) and IDS/IPS systems.
• Implement and manage network monitoring tools to perform proactive analysis for performance optimization.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring problems and develop comprehensive network documentation.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in network engineering or L3 network support.
• Deep expertise configuring and troubleshooting Cisco and/or Juniper network devices.
• Strong hands-on experience with advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and switching technologies (VLANs, Spanning Tree, EtherChannel).
• Proven experience with firewall administration and network security principles.
• Solid understanding of core network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios.
• Fluency in both German and English.
