Description

You will manage and support 24x7 production and development Teradata databases on Unix platforms, ensuring maximum availability for application workloads.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage DBA tasks including system administration, backup, archive, restore, and performance management.
• Administer user, object, and security management following Teradata best practices.
• Perform statistics management and write efficient SQL for data access.
• Monitor system performance using Teradata Viewpoint and enforce data archive/restore policies.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience as a Teradata Database Administrator (DBA) on Unix Platforms.
• Proficiency in Teradata tools: Teradata Administrator, SQL Assistant, and TSET.
• Strong working knowledge of Unix shell scripting and Python.
• Ability to write efficient SQL and perform query tuning.
• Proficiency with Unix commands and basic scripting.
• Experience with data archive/restore policies and system performance monitoring.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with Teradata administration in cloud environments (public or private).
