Description

Manage and support 24x7 production and development Teradata databases to ensure maximum availability.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Perform system administration, backup, archive, and restore management for Teradata environments.
• Execute performance monitoring and tuning using Teradata Viewpoint, TASM, and TDWM.
• Conduct capacity planning, workload management, and problem determination for database systems.
• Handle user, object, and security management following Teradata best practices.
• Troubleshoot Teradata utilities including FastLoad, MultiLoad, FastExport, BTEQ, and TPT.

Required Skills

• 3-12 years of experience as a Teradata DBA in Data Warehouse environments.
• Hands-on experience with Teradata Administrator, SQL Assistant, and TSET.
• Proficiency in Teradata utilities and hands-on experience using DSA.
• Experience with backup and restore processes using Veritas NetBackup, NetVault, or Tivoli.
• Ability to write efficient SQL and perform query tuning.
• Experience with Unix commands and basic scripting.
• Knowledge of Statistics Management, MVC, and PDCR Reporting and Analysis.
• Ability to provide 24x7 support on a rotational basis.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Teradata in a public or private cloud environment.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Exposure to ETL/BI tools such as Informatica, DataStage, Business Objects, SAS, Microstrategy, Tableau, or Power BI.
