Description

You will lead the end-to-end migration of data systems from Teradata to GCP BigQuery.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute the migration of data systems from Teradata to GCP BigQuery while maintaining data quality and reliability.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Cloud Dataflow, Apache Beam, or Cloud Data Fusion.
• Optimize SQL queries and workloads in both Teradata and BigQuery to ensure performance at scale.
• Troubleshoot migration issues including data mismatches, platform compatibility, and performance bottlenecks.
• Document technical workflows and implement testing procedures to validate data migration.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering and enterprise-level migrations.
• Advanced, hands-on experience with Teradata and complex SQL tuning.
• In-depth familiarity with GCP services, specifically BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow.
• Strong ETL development skills using Python and SQL.
• Practical knowledge of data modeling, data governance, and data quality standards.
• Experience with GCP-native tools and Cloud Dataflow.
• Ability to work with large-scale datasets in a cloud environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with orchestration tools like Cloud Composer, Apache Airflow, or Apache Beam.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for automating data workflows.
• Knowledge of cloud data security protocols and compliance frameworks like HIPAA and GDPR.
