Identify test equipment required to execute on proposed test requirements.
Using Altium, design schematics, PCBA layout and sourcing of tester interface. Design associated harnesses as required.
Software Design
Support software test requirement definition
Following EE test SW architecture. Design and deliver test software to exercise hardware following proposed test requirement.
Build
Work with EE lab and support sourcing of parts required to build test system.
Verification of harness and test equipment build.
Integration
Integrate Test Software and Test Hardware and create automation sequence.
Perform multi-run, user and UUT verification to refine pass/fail criteria of test requirements.
Deployment
Support Product Test Engineering in documenting test procedures, preventive maintenance and training of operators.
Perform testing as required.
Determine root cause of product failures and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Work with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to support customer returns and failure analysis.
Disposition production materials on hold and take corrective actions to troubleshoot processes to support new product integration.
Validate through regression testing when issues and corrective actions are resolved.
Hardware design experience — priority skill; hands-on PCBA/schematic design using Altium or similar ECAD (hard floor: has personally designed boards, junior level acceptable)
LabVIEW — required if CAD skills are lighter; strong LabVIEW can offset (CLD cert = strong signal)
Design verification testing (DVT), qual campaigns, EMI — must know component-level testing on PCBAs
Fixture/tester build experience — harness design, bring-up, integration of test HW + SW into automated sequences
