Description

You will manage the design, specification, and implementation of programming for assembly and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement programming for new and existing assembly and test equipment.
• Provide programming support for machine breakdowns and new project introductions.
• Manage internal projects to meet agreed timeframes and provide regular progress reports.
• Develop and improve programming methods and process documentation for training purposes.
• Collaborate with Production Managers and Engineers on equipment development.
• Liaise with suppliers to determine specifications and evaluate equipment and parts.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with National Instruments (NI) hardware.
• Expertise in LabVIEW programming.
• Experience with PLC hardware and software.
• HNC/HND level in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Practical engineering background, ideally from an apprenticeship.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Omron PLC, HMI programming, and robotics.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics and/or pneumatics.
• Understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement tools.
• Successful completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship.
