Manage traffic movement and roadway monitoring to ensure safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor roadways via CCTV surveillance cameras and detection systems to identify traffic incidents, congestion, and travel time imbalances.
• Operate computer-based traffic management systems to manage incidents and improve roadway conditions.
• Dispatch Service Patrols and coordinate resources with highway patrol, local law enforcement, fire rescue, and adjacent Traffic Management Centers.
• Maintain and verify the accuracy of messages displayed on DMS and 511 systems.
• Enter incident information into traffic software and use SOG to detect, dispatch, monitor, and document roadway incidents.

Required Skills

• 2 years of experience as a TMC Technician II or directly comparable experience.
• Proficiency using SOG for incident detection and documentation.
• Experience operating computer-based traffic management systems and CCTV surveillance.
• Ability to monitor and maintain traffic devices and associated computer equipment.
• Strong communication skills for conferring with emergency services and regional DOT partners.

Preferred Skills

• IMSA Level III Technician and Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (IMOT) Certification.
• Dispatch or Call Center experience.
