Description

Design and maintain a scalable design system and reusable component library for enterprise web applications and the River AI Chatbot.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build high-level wrapper components using HTML, SASS, and Angular within the USWDS framework or similar enterprise systems.
• Ensure all UI patterns meet WCAG 2.1/AAA accessibility standards through semantic HTML, ARIA roles, and rigorous testing workflows.
• Use Storybook for component documentation, development, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Partner with developers to drive adherence to accessibility and UX standards, mentoring teams new to these practices.
• Conduct code reviews, accessibility audits, and UX discussions to ensure front-end asset quality.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional front-end development experience.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, SASS, and Angular.
• Proven expertise in WCAG 2.1/AAA standards, ARIA roles, and semantic HTML.
• Experience setting up and integrating enterprise design systems and reusable component libraries.
• Proficiency with Storybook for component development and documentation.
• Strong understanding of UX best practices and accessible interface design.
• Experience with USWDS or other enterprise-level design systems.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with .NET, MVC, and SQL for backend integration and cross-team collaboration.
• Understanding of backend considerations in a .NET environment for seamless front-end integration.
