Description

You design and optimize user interfaces for IT solutions, ensuring usability, accessibility, and alignment with State of Michigan standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and technical leads to define project scope, requirements, and system functionality.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes that adhere to SOM Applications and Site Standards.
• Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to identify pain points and validate design solutions.
• Lead visual design decisions and ensure compliance with ADA accessibility requirements.
• Advise developers on UI/UX best practices and accessibility remediation during the build phase.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design for enterprise or government IT solutions.
• Strong proficiency in CSS and front-end design standards.
• Deep knowledge of ADA compliance and accessibility testing methodologies.
• Experience collaborating with Business Analysts to translate business needs into design specs.
• Ability to create personas, user flows, journey maps, and storyboards.
• Familiarity with SOM Applications and Site Standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.
