You will design and maintain accessible user interfaces and design systems.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain UI components that adhere to WCAG 2.1, ADA, and Section 508 standards.
• Build and manage component libraries and high-fidelity prototypes within Figma.
• Advocate for accessibility principles, including color contrast, keyboard navigation, and screen reader compatibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to ensure seamless implementation of accessible designs.
• Design for users with visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a UX/UI Designer with a focus on accessibility.
• Expertise in Figma, including component library management and prototyping.
• Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.1, ADA, and Section 508 guidelines.
• Understanding of assistive technologies such as screen readers, voice recognition, and magnification tools.
• Proficiency with project management tools like Jira or Asana.
• Ability to communicate complex accessibility concepts to non-designers.
• Experience working with design libraries and UI design principles.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with front-end development or the development process to ensure compliance.
• Ability to conduct accessibility audits using tools like Lighthouse.
• Familiarity with JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver.
