Description

You will manage and maintain production-critical Solaris and Linux environments in a 24x7 shift rotation.

Responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot Oracle Solaris (8, 9, 10, 11) and Linux (RHEL, OEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) physical and virtual servers.
• Recover and rebuild existing production Linux nodes and Solaris servers.
• Manage storage via ZFS, SVM, LVM, and VxVM, including LU deallocation, disk space extension, and RAID management using mdadm.
• Perform kernel tuning, package management via rpm/yum, and network management including Ethernet bonding, VIPs, and routing.
• Automate administrative tasks using shell scripting and execute incident, problem, and change management processes.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Solaris and Linux administration.
• Expertise in Solaris virtualization, specifically LDOMs, CDOMs, and Zones.
• Expert-level knowledge of RHEL, OEL, Ubuntu, and CentOS administration.
• Advanced experience with VMware vCenter and virtualization of Unix servers.
• Strong proficiency in ZFS, SVM, and Oracle OpsCenter.
• Hands-on experience with NFS, CIFS, Samba, and auto-mounter.
• Deep understanding of NAS and SAN environments for OS-level storage troubleshooting.
• Experience with directory services including LDAP and NIS.
• Ability to manage host-based networking, DNS, and DHCP.
