Description

You will manage and maintain production-critical Solaris and Linux environments across physical and virtualized infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot Oracle Solaris 8, 9, 10, and 11.
• Recover and rebuild existing production Linux and Solaris nodes.
• Manage host-based storage including LVM, VxVM, RAID arrays via mdadm, and NAS filers.
• Perform kernel tuning, modifications, and automate tasks using shell scripting.
• Execute incident, problem, and change management processes within a 24x7 shift rotation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Solaris and Linux administration.
• Expertise in Solaris virtualization including LDoms, Zones, and CDoms.
• Advanced administration of RHEL, OEL, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
• Deep knowledge of ZFS and SVM.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle OpsCenter and VMware vCenter.
• Proficiency in network management including Ethernet bonding, VIPs, DNS, DHCP, and routing.
• Experience with directory services such as LDAP and NIS.
• Strong understanding of NFS, CIFS, Samba, and auto-mounter.
• Capability in Red Hat package and patch management using rpm and yum.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Red Hat Linux virtualization.
