Description

You will maintain and support Unix and Linux server environments, ensuring system availability and compliance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers running Unix (IBM AIX, FreeBSD) and Linux (Red Hat).
• Provide remote support for servers, applications, the Unix-based mail system, and Linux/Apache technologies.
• Monitor server performance and availability, making recommendations to meet expected demands.
• Conduct routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards and policies.
• Develop and promote standard operating procedures for system operations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in systems administration.
• Expertise with Unix commands and utilities, including job scheduling, backups, and utilization statistics.
• Hands-on experience with IBM AIX, PowerHA, PowerVM, and related technologies.
• Familiarity with Linux system administration.
• Ability to install and configure third-party software packages.
• Understanding of core systems administration concepts (installation, user management, security fundamentals).
• Proven ability to interface with vendors, clients, and management.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
