Description

You will maintain and support a global estate of approximately 6,000 servers across UNIX and Linux environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the UNIX estate through regular OS patching, system upgrades, and configuration management.
• Execute storage migration tasks and manage hardware configurations for diverse server environments.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and perform capacity planning to ensure stability.
• Automate routine administrative tasks using Perl and Shell scripting.
• Manage system performance and network configurations across TCP/IP and firewalled environments.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in systems administration, including patching and configuration management.
• Proficiency with Linux distributions: Red Hat, SuSe, and OEL.
• Hands-on experience with UNIX environments, specifically Solaris and AIX.
• Experience with VERITAS products, including VCS and Volume Management on Solaris.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, and firewalled environments.
• Experience with EMC SRDF storage on Solaris and Linux.
• Understanding of Ethernet, bonding, PCIe technologies, and network topology.
• Strong skill in Perl and Shell scripting for task automation.
• Familiarity with ITSM procedures.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Oracle engineered systems such as Exadata and Exalogic.
• Knowledge of Sun/Oracle M-Series and HP ProLiant DL380/580 hardware.
