Description

You will manage and maintain VAX/VMS systems supporting PROMIS and other manufacturing applications.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Configure and manage VAX/VMS systems, including user accounts, groups, and system resources.
• Install, update, and manage software, operating system patches, and new releases.
• Develop and maintain DCL scripts to automate system tasks and manufacturing processes.
• Monitor system performance to identify bottlenecks and implement optimization measures.
• Diagnose and resolve system problems related to VAX/VMS and PROMIS applications.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in VAX/VMS administration.
• Direct experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on expertise with VAX and VMS technologies.
• Proficiency in writing and maintaining DCL (Digital Command Language) scripts.
• Experience managing PROMIS or similar manufacturing information systems.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues.
• Ability to manage system integration between VAX/VMS and other IT infrastructure.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and environments.
• Experience with network administration and security best practices.
