Description

Lead backend engineering efforts to design, build, and maintain scalable banking systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor backend engineers, driving technical upskilling and engineering excellence.
• Design and implement scalable monolithic and microservices architectures using Java.
• Develop and maintain APIs and microservices using Spring Boot with REST and SOAP integrations.
• Drive engineering best practices including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and performance optimization.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions in an Agile environment.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of hands-on development experience in Java/J2EE-based enterprise applications.
• Deep expertise in Java, J2EE (EJB, JMS), Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Extensive experience designing highly available microservices and monolithic banking applications.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Oracle, and other relational databases.
• Experience with application servers such as Tomcat and WebLogic.
• Hands-on use of CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Bitbucket, and uDeploy.
• Practical knowledge of containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with performance testing (load, spike, endurance) and monitoring tools like AppDynamics, New Relic, or Splunk.
• Familiarity with BDD/TDD methodologies and tools like Cucumber.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-native development.
• Domain knowledge in Banking, Financial Services, or Payments.
