Description

You will own the operational and automation aspects of the virtualization environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deploy new virtual server systems, including patching, backup, and restore operations.
• Monitor, report on, and automate the VMware vSphere 7.0 environment and Cisco UCS infrastructure.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate processes and build self-help tools to reduce support workload.
• Define disaster recovery plans and establish operational procedures and documentation.
• Collaborate with Platform, Network, and Storage teams on cross-platform interoperability tasks.

Required Skills

• 6+ years in IT, with 5+ years managing the VMware vSphere platform and underlying server technologies.
• 4+ years scripting experience using PowerShell/PowerCLI.
• Experience with core protocols: TCP/IP, SSH, SMTP, LDAP, DNS, OSI Layer.
• Knowledge of networking concepts including VLANs, Firewall, ACLs, and Load-balancer configuration.
• Experience provisioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting storage using FC, iSCSI, and NFS.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting n-tier applications under a least privilege model.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements for application support.
• Familiarity with Azure.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Cisco UCS blade server architecture.
• Experience with Ansible or other configuration management tools.
• Experience using monitoring tools such as VMware vRops.
