Description

You will architect, maintain, and optimize virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) across on-premises and cloud environments, serving government and federal tenants. You own the full lifecycle of virtualization systems, from capacity planning and health checks to complex migrations and critical incident resolution.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement virtual desktop architectures, including upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning for Citrix and AVD.
• Manage incident response and problem management, identifying root causes of system degradation and resolving critical outages.
• Monitor system performance and capacity, alerting leadership to risks that could impact service levels or client operations.
• Mentor team members and provide technical training to end-users and IT staff on VDI tools and best practices.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure processes, configurations, and operational runbooks.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on VDI technologies.
• Proficiency in Citrix and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) infrastructure deployments.
• Hands-on experience with VDI support tools such as NERDIO and ControlUp.
• Proven track record of transitioning on-premises virtual infrastructure to cloud environments.
• Experience managing VDI resources within Government or Federal controlled cloud tenants.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong ability to document infrastructure processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator certification.
• Citrix Certified Associate certification.
