Description

You will develop and maintain provisioning systems, APIs, and tooling for a large-scale, globally deployed VMware-based platform.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a provisioning system with APIs and command-based interfaces for VM management.
• Build and enhance a suite of integrated open source and internal tools, libraries, and configuration components.
• Write secure, testable, and modular code for state-based distributed systems.
• Collaborate on development through code reviews, specification implementation, and documentation.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in software development.
• Strong Python and Perl programming skills.
• Expert knowledge of Linux and familiarity with UNIX system calls.
• Experience with backend server development for highly available APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience managing large (10k+ lines) modular projects in collaborative environments.
• Knowledge of SQL and database programming.
• Proficiency with git, Jenkins, agile methodologies, and continuous integration.

Preferred Skills

• Experience designing and supporting large-scale production IaaS platforms using VMware.
• Knowledge of Erlang or Prolog.
• Troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, network, and storage.
