Description

You will manage the VMware infrastructure and server hardware supporting laboratory information management systems and high-performance genomic sequencing computing.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware, operating systems, and network equipment including routers and switches.
• Administer VMware infrastructure including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and security measures such as backups and data protection.
• Monitor system performance, perform failover testing, and execute platform software upgrades and patches.
• Automate administrative tasks through scripting and develop architectural diagrams and procedure documentation.

Required Skills

• Direct experience with VMware administration.
• Proficiency with vSphere and vCenter.
• Experience managing ESXi and virtual machines.
• Ability to configure and manage network equipment, routers, and switches.
• Experience implementing system backups and data protection protocols.
• Ability to create scripts for administrative task automation.
• Experience gathering and presenting system performance metrics.
• Capability to develop detailed architectural diagrams.

Preferred Skills

• 3 years of experience in similar VMware administration roles.
