Position Summary
This position encompasses three roles supporting within the PeopleSoft information development organization: web designer, software developer, and system administrator. The web designer on the PeopleSoft information development team is responsible for designing, creating, testing, and deploying web pages and other assets primarily for the PeopleSoft information portal. In addition, the software developer and system administrator is responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of the PeopleSoft information development rendering and authoring environments.
Responsibilities
Systems Administration
· Develop and maintain software that supports publishing and authoring systems.
· Maintain tools that render HTML and PDF output. Macros and scripts are written in Java, Python, XSLT, Ant, and so on.
· Maintain Oracle Application Express (APEX) applications.
· Maintain Linux and Windows servers.
· Apply monthly security patches.
· Manage SSH key files and user access to Linux and Windows servers.
Website Specialist
· Own web design projects from concept through launch.
· Design page layouts using approved components and templates.
· Collaborate with Information Development, Product Strategy, Software Development, and other stakeholders.
· Test and deploy web designs.
· Maintain consistent branding across web assets.
Git Repository Management
· Migrate existing SVN repositories to Git.
· Create and manage local and remote Git repositories.
· Clone repositories, push local files, and pull remote updates.
· Create, switch, and merge branches; resolve merge conflicts.
· Create pull requests and merge requests.
· Manage basic repository permissions.
Qualifications
Required
· Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
· At least two years of relevant professional experience.
· Strong experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Dreamweaver, and Git.
· Proficiency with Git and hosted Git platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
· Experience with SVN-to-Git migration, branching, merging, pull requests, and conflict resolution.
· Understanding of Git workflows and repository management.
· Demonstrated attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
· Ability to take projects from concept through launch and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
· Working knowledge of UI/UX principles.
· Excellent time-management, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
· Linux/UNIX system administration experience.
· Experience with XML and XSLT.
· Experience with SQL; Oracle PL/SQL programming is preferred.
· Java programming experience.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
The candidate must have at least two years of strong experience with HTML and CSS, along with excellent proficiency in Git. They should be capable of independently managing Git migration and repository cloning tasks
