Description

Build and secure the back-end of a WordPress site, creating reusable components and features that meet WCAG AA accessibility standards.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and reusable components for the WordPress theme and plugins.
• Collaborate with the UX/UI Content Manager to ensure front-end functionality and mobile support.
• Ensure the site is maintainable and secure, following best practices for performance and scalability.
• Communicate design logic and product narratives clearly to cross-functional teams and general audiences.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in systems analysis, programming, and design.
• Extensive coding knowledge in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proven experience with WordPress theme and plugin creation.
• Strong understanding of design principles and accessibility standards (WCAG AA).
• Experience with translation frameworks and various design/architectural patterns.
• Ability to troubleshoot front-end concerns and ensure security and testing standards.
• BA/BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with cross-functional teams to align deliverables with design and content standards.
• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
