Description

You will build and secure the back-end of a WordPress site, creating reusable components, plugins, and themes while ensuring WCAG AA accessibility standards and mobile support.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and reusable components for the WordPress theme and plugins using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with the UX/UI Content Manager to ensure front-end functionality meets design, content, and UX standards.
• Implement security best practices and ensure the site is maintainable without reliance on the initial developer.
• Troubleshoot front-end concerns and optimize for performance, scalability, and accessibility.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in systems analysis, programming, and design.
• Extensive coding knowledge in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with WordPress theme and plugin creation.
• Understanding of design principles and familiarity with accessibility principles (WCAG AA).
• Familiarity with translation frameworks and various design/architectural patterns.
• Experience with performance, scalability, security, and testing applications.
• Ability to articulate technical concepts to general audiences and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• BA/BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Experience with WP Engine infrastructure.
