Description

You will develop and maintain systems that integrate legacy IBM iSeries architectures with modern web services.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Integrate legacy systems with modern web services using REST APIs and middleware.
• Optimize database performance and tune complex queries in DB2 and SQL Server.
• Implement software engineering best practices, including CI/CD, unit testing, and code reviews.
• Apply SDLC methodologies while operating within an Agile/Scrum framework.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of overall IT experience with significant hands-on exposure to IBM iSeries (AS/400) environments.
• Proficiency in RPG programming (RPG III, RPG IV, ILE RPG, Free-Form RPG).
• Extensive experience with DB2 and SQL Server, including performance tuning.
• 3+ years implementing CI/CD, unit testing, and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
• Familiarity with Web Services, Middleware, and REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience maintaining systems with a mix of legacy and modern architectures.
