Description

You will develop and maintain web dissemination systems and software programs for the NOAA National Weather Service.

Responsibilities

• Develop web activities for dissemination systems including NOAA Weather Radio, Weather Wire Service, and Emergency Manager’s Weather Information Network.
• Write and maintain software using Linux, BASH shell, and Perl.
• Monitor and coordinate the Dissemination Systems Branch web presence, fixing broken links and errant webpages.
• Create scripts and programs for system operations and performance monitoring.
• Implement OS and application software updates to meet IT security requirements.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining webpages and software programs.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with JSON and CMS platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and BASH shell.
• Strong programming skills in Perl.
• Ability to obtain a NOAA Public Trust Clearance.
• US Citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ArcGIS.
• Prior experience working at NOAA or NWS.
