Description

You will manage and optimize WebSphere Application Server and z/OSConnect environments on the mainframe.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and troubleshoot z/OSConnect (zOSC/zCEE) and WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments.
• Execute WebSphere architecture tasks including performance testing, monitoring, operations, and security design.
• Manage connectivity requirements including planning, securing, and implementing AT-TLS, Keyrings, and Keystores.
• Articulate complex technical findings and hardware architecture performance data to management.
• Collaborate across roles to implement server-side design patterns and continuous delivery principles.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure or software development roles.
• Strong knowledge of z/OSConnect (zOSC or zCEE) on the mainframe.
• Proficiency in WebSphere Application Server (WAS) architecture and design.
• Hands-on experience with Java, TCP/IP, Certificates, AT-TLS, Keyring, and Keystore.
• Software development experience in Python, Java, C, C++, Go, JCL, REXX, Perl, PHP, or Jython.
• Experience with USS (Unix System Services).
• Practical understanding of J2EE, MVC, JDBC, Servlets, JSP, HTML, JQuery, AngularJS, JSON, and XML.
• Advanced experience in at least two areas: web application development, databases, Unix/Linux, distributed systems, networking, or security software development.
• Working knowledge of Agile and Lean philosophies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with zOSMF workflows.
• Background in hardware benchmarking and network engineering.
