Description

You will manage the installation, maintenance, and support of WebSphere MQ across distributed platforms and hybrid cloud domains.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure WebSphere MQ in cluster environments for load balancing and failover using SAN, NAS, or NFS storage.
• Manage MQ objects including Listeners, Command Servers, Channel initiators, Trigger Monitors, Log files, RQDs, and Dead Letter Queues.
• Implement security protocols including SSL, TLS, encryption, and certificates for servers, queues, and applications.
• Troubleshoot high-severity incidents, provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create SOPs to ensure SLA compliance.
• Execute MQ backup and recovery processes and participate in disaster recovery exercises.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in middleware administration.
• Deep expertise in WebSphere MQ, including clustering, PUB/SUB, Exits, and API architectures.
• Proficiency in UNIX shell scripting for automation and management.
• Hands-on experience with security implementation using OAM, SSL, and TLS.
• Experience with middleware technologies such as WAS and JBOSS.
• Knowledge of MQ monitoring tools like Tivoli.
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes, including incident, change, and problem management.
• Ability to design message hubs with endpoints and policies over MQTT.

Preferred Skills

• Experience configuring and troubleshooting ActiveMQ, Apache Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
