Description

Design, deploy, and troubleshoot complex 802.11 networks in the Philadelphia office.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain controller-based Wi-Fi infrastructure across 5 and 6GHz bands.
• Conduct site surveys and optimize network performance using Ekahau, Hamina, and similar tools.
• Analyze packet captures (PCAPs) and device logs to resolve connectivity issues.
• Document network configurations, test results, and recommendations in Excel and PowerPoint.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Wi-Fi engineering.
• Deep expertise in 802.11n/ac/ax protocols, including Tx power, MBR, OFDMA, and AFC.
• Proficiency with Wi-Fi analysis tools such as Ekahau, Hamina, WiFi Explorer, or Airtool.
• Strong understanding of 5GHz and 6GHz channel planning and interference mitigation.
• Ability to capture and interpret Wi-Fi PCAPs and extract device logs.
• Foundational knowledge of core networking concepts and PoE standards.
• Experience managing controller-based wireless networks.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Google Earth for site assessment.
• Previous experience with Extreme Networks gear.
