• Experience: 6+ Years
• We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL DBA (L3) with strong expertise in EnterpriseDB (EDB) PostgreSQL and PostgreSQL Community Edition environments.
• The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing mission-critical 24x7 production databases, database administration, high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, backup & recovery, and database optimization across Linux and Windows environments.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide advanced L3 support for application databases hosted on Azure using EDB PostgreSQL and PostgreSQL Community Edition.
• Implement, configure, and administer EDB Postgres Advanced Server environments.
• Manage High Availability solutions including:
  • Streaming Replication
  • Enterprise Failover Manager (EFM)
  • REPMGR
  • Database Clustering
• Design, implement, and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies and procedures.
• Provide on-demand support for system failures, DR/HA drills, maintenance windows, and critical business events.
• Review PostgreSQL log files proactively to identify potential risks, security concerns, performance bottlenecks, and operational issues.
• Perform database patch management including minor and major PostgreSQL version upgrades.
• Monitor and optimize PostgreSQL performance through configuration tuning and resource optimization.
• Provide recommendations for:
  • Database Parameter Tuning
  • OS Parameter Tuning
  • Index Optimization
  • SQL Query Performance Tuning
• Work closely with project teams to optimize PostgreSQL database configurations based on business requirements.
• Perform restoration activities using:
  • pg_restore
  • Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR)
• Manage database backup and recovery activities including:
  • pg_dump
  • pg_dumpall
  • pg_restore
• Perform routine database maintenance activities including:
  • VACUUM
  • VACUUM FULL
  • ANALYZE
  • AUTOVACUUM Configuration
  • REINDEXING
  • VACUUMDB
• Execute performance benchmarking and capacity validation using pgBench.
• Support database administration across Linux (RHEL/OEL 6, 7, and 8) and Windows Server (2012, 2016, and 2019) environments.
• Implement database security standards, monitoring tools, and operational best practices.

Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience

• 5.5 to 6+ years of strong experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
• Experience managing and maintaining mission-critical 24x7 production database environments.
• Strong expertise in:

  • Database Installation & Configuration
  • Performance Tuning
  • Backup & Recovery

• Hands-on experience in Shell Scripting.
• Strong experience implementing replication, clustering, and failover solutions.
• Experience with PostgreSQL monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of SQL tuning, indexing strategies, and database optimization techniques.
• Strong exposure to Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Good understanding of database security, access management, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Must Have

• Experience working with EnterpriseDB (EDB) products.
• Relevant PostgreSQL / EDB Certifications.
• PostgreSQL HA/DR implementation experience.
• Database Performance Monitoring and Optimization expertise.

Preferred Skills

• Azure Cloud database administration experience.
• Experience with automation and scripting for database operations.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools and database observability solutions.
• Exposure to enterprise-scale database migration and modernization projects
