Description

Own Windows system administration, application deployment, and problem management for engineering software and enterprise infrastructure.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage Windows profiles, services, scheduled tasks, and NTFS file shares with strict least-privilege security.
• Administer Active Directory (ADUC) for users, groups, and device management.
• Perform root cause analysis using Event Viewer, ProcMon, and Process Explorer to resolve complex system issues.
• Develop BATCH and Perl scripts to automate application deployment and create install packages for CAD tools.
• Lead problem management efforts to implement long-term fixes and maintain documentation via GitHub.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Windows system administration.
• Deep understanding of NTFS permissions, domain authentication, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in BATCH and Perl scripting.
• Experience with CAD software deployment (NX, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA).
• Strong documentation skills and experience with version control (GitHub).
• Experience in formal change control, release management, and risk mitigation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and resolve conflicts.

Preferred Skills

• PowerShell scripting and experience managing virtual machines.
• Working knowledge of Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and Windows Server.
• C/C++/C# development experience.
