Description

You will build and develop custom, scalable WordPress websites by translating Sketch or Adobe XD files into backend architecture and functional sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical planning and implementation of WordPress sites using WPVIP PHPCS standards.
• Convert design files from Sketch and Adobe XD into backend architecture and final WordPress builds.
• Maintain and update existing websites to ensure continued functionality.
• Collaborate with creative and strategy teams to execute technical requirements.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of professional experience in web development.
• Advanced PHP knowledge, including OOP principles, arrays, loops, and error logging.
• Expertise in semantic HTML5 and organized, responsive CSS.
• Strong JavaScript skills, including syntax, debugging, and jQuery for UI interactions.
• Experience with WordPress installation and custom site development.
• Proficiency with MySQL, including schemas, tables, and relational database principles.
• Ability to work in Linux or Mac terminal environments.
• Experience consuming and creating web services using SOAP and REST protocols.
• Familiarity with JSON syntax, XML data structuring, and asynchronous JavaScript.
• Competency with Apache web server configuration and optimization.
• Experience implementing SSL certificates and managing secure data encryption.
• Understanding of the MVC architectural pattern.
• Ability to implement and evaluate Google Analytics for metric gathering.

Preferred Skills

• Version control experience using Git or SVN.
• Experience with Sass, SCSS, Gulp, Grunt, or Bower.
• Knowledge of StudioPress Genesis framework, RegEx, NGINX, PHP-FPM, or Memcache.
