Description

Manage end-to-end testing and configuration for Workday HCM, Payroll, and Time Tracking modules.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end testing scenarios and parallel payroll testing to validate outputs against legacy semi-monthly systems.
• Configure HCM, Payroll, and Time Tracking modules while guiding the transition from semi-monthly to bi-weekly payroll cycles.
• Administer Workday security, including role assignments, access validation, and configuration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve configuration, data, or security issues identified during testing cycles.
• Review and validate configurations delivered by implementation partners and develop user-facing documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of expert-level Workday experience, specifically within HR and Payroll implementations.
• Strong configuration knowledge across HCM, Payroll, and Time Tracking modules.
• Proven experience supporting unit, end-to-end, and parallel testing cycles.
• Ability to validate partner-delivered configurations and guide teams through provided test templates.
• Experience troubleshooting test failures and coaching internal teams through resolution.
• Strong communication skills for mentoring testing teams.
• Availability to support HR/Payroll go-live in February and Financials go-live in September.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Workday Financials.
• Experience working with Big 5 consulting firms or familiarity with Cognizant’s delivery model.
• Input on integrations with CalPERS, benefit providers, and California municipal public-sector systems.
