Key Responsibilities:
* Root Cause Analysis & Solution Proposal (Client Hat): Actively identify, confirm, and determine the exact root causes of actual problems in the requirements, design, implementation, and testing phases specifically for US, Canada, and Expat Payroll. Clearly explain these issues and provide actionable solution proposals to both the implementation vendor and internal HR teams.
* Early Issue Detection & Payroll Gap Analysis: Proactively monitor and analyze all phases of the Workday Payroll implementation to detect potential logic issues, missing requirements, and configuration blockers at the earliest possible stage. Conduct thorough gap analyses between specific business operations and the vendor's proposed Workday configurations.
* Hands-on Configuration & Data Validation: Perform rigorous, hands-on reviews of all vendor-created documents against internal corporate documents and legacy systems, log directly into Workday to physically inspect configurations, and conduct pre-checks of system behaviors.
* Actionable Correction Requests Verification: Formulate concrete solution proposals, issue clear correction requests to the vendor, and directly verify that the vendor has successfully implemented the corrections into the system without merely accepting completion reports.
* Business-Driven Test Design & Execution: Review and validate vendor's test designs, actively participate in executing testing (including UAT and Payroll Parallel Runs) targeting company-specific requirements, and meticulously track defect resolution.
* Internal Stakeholder Alignment: Actively collaborate with the HR department to confirm current operations, translate complex business requirements into clear specifications for the vendor, and ensure no operational gaps are left behind.
Required Qualifications:
* Implementation Vendor Leadership Experience: Must have a proven track record working at an Implementation Vendor as a Payroll Domain Leader. Must have participated in at least two end-to-end Workday implementation projects (from project initiation to completion) for large-scale multinational companies.
* Domain Expertise (US, Canada & Expat): Deep, practical understanding of US, Canadian, and Expat Payroll processing, statutory labor and tax laws, social insurance, and general HR business operations.
* Workday Expertise & Hands-on Capability: Minimum 3+ years of proven hands-on experience supporting and configuring Workday Payroll. Deep proficiency in Workday configuration, data structure, and integrations, with the ability to directly navigate the system to verify settings.
* Testing Experience: 4+ years of experience in testing Workday implementations, including the review of detailed test plans, comprehensive E2E test cases, and management of Payroll Parallel testing.
* Problem Solving & Communication: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to independently identify problems, conceptualize solutions, and drive vendor actions. Proven ability to communicate effectively, accurately gather internal requirements, and strongly negotiate with vendors
