Description

You will design and maintain z/OS network architecture, leading deployments of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Your work ensures secure data flow, high performance, and strict compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Define network architecture, layout, and data flow strategies for z/OS environments.
• Lead implementation of network technologies including VPNs, QoS, and intrusion detection systems.
• Configure and maintain z/OS Communications Server, TCP/IP stacks, and Policy Agent (Pagent).
• Analyze TCP/IP packet captures and VTAM traces to resolve complex network issues.
• Support secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS) and manage digital certificates/keyrings.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of overall IT experience, with 8+ years in development or engineering roles.
• Deep understanding of network protocols: TCP/IP, SNA, VTAM, APPN, and Enterprise Extender.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM z/OS Communications Server.
• Proficiency in network analysis tools, including packet capture and sniffer traces.
• Strong programming expertise in at least one language (Java preferred) or working knowledge of two.
• Experience with IBM 3270 emulators (PCOMM, HOD, HACP-EE) and enterprise printing systems.
• Ability to generate reports using SMF data, REXX, CLIST, or Java.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and automation scripting (REXX, CLIST).
• Familiarity with tools such as PuTTY, WinSCP, and ServiceNow.
