Description

You will manage and optimize the mainframe environment, focusing on z/OS upgrades, hardware refreshes, and subsystem maintenance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute z/OS upgrades (versions 2.4, 2.5, or 3.1) using z/OSMF workflows.
• Support hardware refresh projects across z14, z15, and z16 platforms.
• Manage software maintenance and upgrades for IBM and Broadcom tools using SMP/E.
• Configure new hardware using IODF, HCD, HMC, and IOCP.
• Maintain core subsystems including JES2, ISPF, TCP/IP, USS, and Parallel Sysplex.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in z/OS system administration.
• Hands-on expertise with z/OSMF workflows and z/OS upgrades.
• Proficiency in SMP/E, ServerPac, and Shopz/SMP/E retrieval.
• Deep knowledge of JES2, ISPF, TCP/IP, USS, and Parallel Sysplex.
• Experience with IODF, HCD, HMC, and IOCP configuration tools.
• Strong scripting skills in REXX and CLIST for automation.
• Technical knowledge of USS, zFS, VTAM, Connect: Direct, and FTP/SFTP.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with problem diagnosis including abends, wait states, dumps, and SLIP.
• Understanding of Disaster Recovery processes and IPL flow.
