Description

You will manage z/OS system upgrades, maintenance, and performance tuning for critical mainframe infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Execute z/OS upgrades, including pre-installation checks, customization, testing, and post-upgrade verification.
• Apply Client PTFs and APARs to maintain system integrity and resolve reported issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain ISV products including security (RACF, ACF2, Top Secret), scheduling (CA-7, TWS), and storage management tools.
• Analyze system performance data using RMF, SMF, and Omegamon to identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization.
• Develop and maintain REXX, JCL, and automation scripts for administrative tasks and monitoring.

Required Skills

• 7-10 years of hands-on experience as a Mainframe Systems Programmer.
• In-depth knowledge of z/OS installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Strong proficiency in JCL, TSO/ISPF, SMP/E, and JES2/JES3.
• Experience with major z/OS upgrades and ISV product support (Broadcom/CA, BMC, Rocket Software).
• Proficiency in REXX scripting for automation.
• Understanding of mainframe networking (TCP/IP, VTAM).
• Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Db2, IMS, and VSAM.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
