Description

You will architect, install, and maintain complex z/OS environments and third-party software in a large-scale mainframe setting.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Configure, install, and maintain z/OS systems using SMP/E and vendor software installations.
• Execute operating system upgrades and RSU maintenance via z/OSMF workflows.
• Manage IODF, HCD for device additions, and configure Sysplex environments.
• Support storage, performance tuning, capacity planning, security, and networking from a z/OS perspective.
• Design project plans for upgrades and decommissioning, communicating timelines to stakeholders.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of professional experience as a Mainframe System Programmer in z/OS and ISVs.
• Expertise in SMP/E and non-SMP/E installation of ISV products.
• Mastery of z/OS system commands, utilities, and automation tools (JCL, IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, AMASPZAP, DFDSS).
• Hands-on knowledge of JES2/JES3, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and USS/OMVS.
• Experience with IBM and Broadcom software product installations and upgrades.
• Proficiency in z/OS V2.5 or later, including z/OSMF workflow execution.
• Basic knowledge of REXX/CLIST and ISPF/TSO.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to mainframe modernization initiatives, including APIs and hybrid cloud integration.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices on mainframe (CI/CD pipelines) and Zowe.
