Description

You will manage z/OS operating system upgrades and execute the migration from JES3 to JES2.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the migration from JES3 to JES2, including managing customized JES3 inline code changes, control block expansions, and exits.
  • Perform z/OS operating system upgrades and maintain system-level software products.
  • Develop IBM zSeries Coupling Facility structure definition and operation support to manage structure movement during machine outages.
  • Configure IBM Enterprise Server LPARs and System Time Protocol (STP) using the Hardware Management Console (HMC).
  • Support IBM z/OS 2.1 and later, including JES2/JES3, zVM, and Linux on Z (zLinux) environments.

Required Skills

  • 3 years of experience within the last 7 years using IBM ServerPac, SHOPz, or SMPe for z/OS installation and configuration.
  • 3 years of experience in a Parallel Sysplex environment.
  • 3 years of experience developing IBM zSeries Coupling Facility support.
  • 3 years of experience configuring IBM Enterprise Server LPARs and STP via HMC.
  • Proficiency with JES2, JES3, TSO, ISPF, JCL, and RACF.
  • Experience with REXX and knowledge of Assembler/COBOL source and compiling.
  • Experience supporting IBM z/OS WebSphere (zWAS), IBM Integration Bus (IIB), and IBM MQ.
  • Ability to support IBM CICS, including SOAP and web services.
  • Any Graduate degree.

Preferred Skills

  • Design and support of IBM CICS on z/OS.
