  Job Description
Leading ASP is looking for a number of high quality Software/Application Architects with a minimum of 3 years experience in design and implementation of Enterprise Scale OO projects.

Additionally, a proven track record in J2EE or .NET and a thorough understanding of both current and emerging technologies, particularly Web Services, is required. Candidates will have proven track record from development through team leading roles culminating in Architecture responsibilities.

They will have the ability to manage and develop their teams during projects and are expected to contribute strongly to internal development initiatives, both technically and for personnel.

Experience of working as an Application Architect on one or more enterprise-class system developments, or as the lead designer for a significant subsystem within a larger enterprise-class system development
Fully conversant with UML and exposure to a recognised OO software development process such as Rational Unified Process.

Extensive experience of Java and/or J2EE, including at a minimum JSP/Servlets and EJB.
Development and deployment with J2EE application server environments, including at least one of BEA WebLogic Server, Sun iPlanet Application Server and IBM Websphere.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present concepts and architectures at an appropriate level to a target audience in a number of contexts (e.g. sales meetings, senior management, technical specialists, conference/seminars etc).
Design/development/deployment in Solaris, HP-UX, AIX or Windows NT environments.

Exposure to or understanding of relational database management systems (preferably Oracle, but Informix or DB2 would be acceptable).Exposure to design/development/deployment in C and/or C++.Commercial awareness, demonstrated by a focus on applying technology to solve business problems and the ability to design commercially acceptable solutions.

Experience of working with clients to integrate or evolve existing (legacy) systems into a new architecture.
Exposure to or understanding of some of the following technologies:OMG CORBA (IDL, development, use of CORBA services)
Microsoft COM/DCOMMicrosoft .NET architectureWeb Services protocols (e.g. SOAP, WSDL, UDDI) Object database management systems
