  Job Description

* applying your technical and interpersonal skills to provide second and third tier stewardship and support to a variety of business applications
* providing application support, tracking enhancement requests from the clients and facilitating between Business, IT Infrastructure, and IT Client Services Teams
* troubleshooting support incidents and resolving end user application issues will be the core operational activity
* managing the lifecycle of a number of specific applications
* participating in projects that are associated with the support of existing or new business applications


* must be legally entitled to work in Canada
* 3+ years experience with direct end user oil and gas application support with proven ability to support in-house developed applications as well as vendor provided solutions
* knowledge of Production Accounting, Crown Royalty, Revenue and Capital AFE business principles
* experience providing direct end user support of accounting or finance applications
* technical knowledge of Oracle databases and SQL to facilitate issue diagnostics and communicate with appropriate technical expertise
* a solid understanding of networks and hardware fundamentals
* good business knowledge of the oil and gas industry
* experience providing application stewardship and support, via an incident management system, to end users and business support teams for business applications
* an understanding and ability to follow documented SOX procedures so as to ensure all effected applications, tools, and work flows remain SOX compliant
* an ability to maintain application call flows, software inventories, and change management controls
* experience working with internal team members like Business Analysts in an effort to steward resolution of technology issues on behalf of the business areas being represented
* experience managing the lifecycle of business applications from implementation to retirement following established company application lifecycle management policies
* experience managing vendor relations, communicating operational issues, being aware of future trends, and changes within the application, etc.
* experience ensuring up to date documentation of application lifecycle management activities
* experience proactively working with other IT groups to successfully implement and maintain the day to day operation of the business applications assigned
* proven ability to demonstrate an understanding of the functionality and internal architecture of an application
* experience participating in various projects associated with existing business applications and other IT functions
* experience working with vendors regarding problem diagnostics and resolution
* an advanced ability to manage multiple tasks and applying appropriate priorities
* a strong "customer focus" work ethic
* strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
* self-reliance/self motivation and ability to work well in a dynamic team environment
